GoodEnoughMom started writing some sponsored posts about a month ago and has had a great time doing it. In hearing about her experience and the income that it has created, I decided that I needed to jump aboard this train. So from time to time you will see some blog advertising here on utechblog. Aside from giving me an opportunity to make some extra cash that I plan to use for reducing our debt it will also give me a topic to write about since I then to be somewhat sporadic in my posting. Be assured that I will identify all sponsored posts and that I will not sell out my beliefs just to make a couple of bucks. One of the benefits of getting signed up with PayPerPost is that I have learned more about how the blogosphere works and about page ranking. Right now this site is some where in the 5.4 million range when it comes to popularity, meaning that there are some 5.4 million websites that are more popular than mine. Granted I didn’t set out to blog to become popular since the added attention brings with it a lot of unwanted attention as well. But I will admit that I would like to at least break into the top 1 million. It is also my hope that having these little assignment opportunities will also motivate me to post about some of the things that are bouncing around inside my head that I would love to have a discussion about. So we will see what happens…

Yo Mike…
I’m all for making a living and paying off debt, but Pay Per Post? Dude, that is a little shady to me.
Here’s what I mean, …basically Pay Per Post pays you to write a review on various topics that are sponsored by companies, with the stipulation that you can’t write anything negative about them. So it really isn’t a review really, it is more of a pimping of a product that you may or may not have to have a whole heck of a lot of knowledge about. No?
I would be concerned with losing my credibility as a blogger, the idea of “selling out” to corporate pockets and falling victim to the greatest sin of consumerism.
If I were going to do this (which I dont think I could), I would put a disclaimer on every post or at least in the header graphic where no one could miss it, telling your readers that the opinions expressed on this blog are sponsored and paid for by Pay Per Post. So your readers will know what they’re reading.
Just my opinion… which is sponsored by Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes… “They’re Grrrrreat!”, the number “3″ and the letter “R”.

Actually – you choose the topics you write about and many of them accept honest reviews (positive OR negative). You don’t blog anything you don’t want to. If you don’t like the opportunity, you don’t take it, just like anything else in life.
But you’re right — it’s not for everybody. If he wants to try it, that’s his decision. But “selling out”? That’s just a bit early 90s angst-y to me.

Eddie Vedder is a god of rock and roll.
If I only had a black sharpie right now, I would ink my arms up with political and anti-social statements.
