Just a couple of weeks ago, August 18 to be exact. I added the started watching my page rank, at the time I was over 5 million meaning that of all the sites on the internet some 5 million sites were more popular than mine – not a surprise. However I actually looked today and now this site has a ranking of just under a million (967,458 to be exact). That means that people are linking to here and also people are commenting, etc. That is really cool from my perspective. It is amazing how these interweb tubes works.
To all of you who read this, Thank you! And hey leave a comment every now and then – especially you lurkers! It makes this whole thing more interactive and a lot more enjoyable.
This video is just amazing and just goes to show that men like to blow stuff up… even when they should not.
Yeah it has only been since Wednesday morning but if you own a mac then you understand the separation anxiety.
I got the update email from Apple Care and checked the status (actually I had the page up all day and kept refreshing it) they updated my ticket with a tracking number but they put the wrong one on it so now I can’t track the progress. Based on previous experience it should get to the house about 9:30 tomorrow morning. I think I will skip lunch so I can leave a little earlier tomorrow.

Do you have any personalized pens?
I just checked my drawer – the only writing instruments that I have that I bought are sharpies. All the pens that I have all have company logos on them. Some of them are good pens others… well, they are in the drawer but I don’t think I have used some of them at all.
The first church we attended (for 8 years) when I moved to Ohio got some pens with the church name on them and they were some really nice pens. I would get handfuls to take to work and have in my desk. The nice thing about using a unique pen is if you forget it somewhere it is easy to find it. Granted at the time I purposely left the church pens behind for others to use – I don’t think it was ever an effective witness or anything but that aside they were still good pens. As a matter of fact I think there still maybe one or two floating around the house.
[know the song that the title refers to? - I will give points*]
Do you wear a watch? I have tried a couple of times when I was younger and it just didn’t happen – sensitive skin boy here.
My mom always wore a watch, you know those $5 watches from Wal-Mart or some other discount chain. The weird thing was that my mom always wore her watch on her non dominate are with the face on the inside of her wrist – she felt more natural looking at the ‘inside’ of her arm rather than the ‘top’ to see what time it was.
I wonder if my mom would even consider wearing one of these fancy Luminox watches?
* The points don’t have any value, but do come with bragging rights.
A couple of days ago there was an article in my news reader about “go bags” – basically a man purse. I am not really sure if my Dell backpack – that I carry my Powerbook Pro in would qualify as a man purse but one of the challenges for a techie is tool storage. I keep a small tool kit in my backpack but for the weekends I ditch the backpack and carry an actual tool box with all the cables, adapters and other equipment that I need to have at church, you know, just in case.
Over the weekend we ventured out to find some home furniture. Our girls have been sleeping on our old mattress for over a year and for most of that time the mattress and box spring have just been on their floor. Since the mattress was given to us years ago, and it was in bad shape when we replaced it and passed it down – granted it was better that what the girls had at the time but it is just had it now. I wonder if people jumping on it may have caused it to die sooner? Anyway we ended up picking up two beds at Wal-Mart and I was able to get my neighbor to help me carry them up to the hall outside their room. I am pretty sure that each box was well over 150 pounds and I didn’t carry it right. Well this morning it decided to catch up with me – I have had some serious pain in my chest and side (basically that whole muscle group) to the point where I was trying to remember the signs of a heart attack. Luckily a coworker hooked me up with some over-the-counter meds and I have been able to keep the more intense pain at bay most of the day. So I better get off here and get to bed.
When I hit my one year anniversary at my current place of employment I inquired about those typically yearly things, one of them was some vacation time. Well my account manager came through and informed me that I have a week of paid vacation that they strongly encourage me to take… one of the downfalls of a high stress job. But with the 3 oldest heading back to school tomorrow and my GEM starting back today it looks like a trip to a Maine bed and breakfast is not an option for us. I need to work out when I can actually take my week off but I think I will just spend it chillin with the youngest and taking the three to school each day.
In the news today…
A Republican Senator has been arrested for lewd conduct in a restroom.
Monkeys are sexually harassing women.
Conclusion – our government is run by primates!?
Seriously though the Senator has a problem… 1. you are so busy the only place that you pick up some action is in a public restroom? 2. you assume that everyone in a public restroom is homosexual? 3. you whip out your “I’m a Senator” card in an effort to not get arrested. oh and then the best one… 4. you plead guilty because you really didn’t do it but didn’t want to make a big deal about it… yeah, and Mike Vick plead guilty cause he wanted to take a year off from playing football cause he was tired.
