Keith Matthew “Matt” Maupin (13 July 1983–) is a United States Army PFC captured by Iraqi insurgents on April 9, 2004 while serving in the Iraq War after his convoy came under attack by rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire near Baghdad, Iraq. On June 28, 2004, Al Jazeera reported that he was executed by his captors who shot him in the head. On June 30, 2004, an Army spokesman said the video showing Maupin’s alleged death was “totally inconclusive.”

    I lost my brother on oct 30 th 2007 SPC Rush M Jenkins and 2 other brave men died that day by his side also . My world was forever changed that day . But you see the thing about Matt is he was not just taken fast and then that was that. Only God and Matt realy know what he had to go though. With that being said , I would like to thank him for giving himself freely and not asking for anything in return . because with out brave men and women like matt where would we be . matt knew that one day he may have to give his live for use and the red white and blue . So in closing to his mom and dad THANK YOU well some would say why are you thanking them WELL…. because they rasied a son who wanted to make a change in this crazy world so thank you mom and dad of Matt.Second Matt you are a brave , selfless, giving , man who gave all till you could give no more . and i thank you for all you did and i will never forget you and what you did for me even though you dont even know me . To his famile i am very sorry for all you had to go though i hope in time you can find closer and peace and lean on God he will help you though i do know that . I know that the word WHY you say in your sleep but only God knows why . Matt is part of God’s Army now .
