want to hear the most annoying sound in grade school

Author: utech  //  Category: Consistently Chili

I swear the most annoying device ever created for grade school students for the purpose of torturing their parents… is the recorder. Thankfully Kyra is actually pretty good with it, she has been playing it nonstop for the last 4-5 days. She has all of the songs from school memorized and whips through them all. Apparently they get ‘belts’ at school based on how well they do with it. She is planning on getting her ‘black belt’ the first day they can try for it.
Honestly I am very very happy that Kyra loves music this much, not only is she very talented but she really enjoys playing and performing for others. And she quickly learns every instrument you hand to her.
But really, whoever invented this instrument of torture needs to be punished!

We will never forget them, nor the last time we saw them, this morning, as they prepared for the journey and waved goodbye and ‘slipped the surly bonds of earth’ to ‘touch the face of God.’

You scored as Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan. You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God’s grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists.

Update 1/25
PDA sold for almost $200. Buyer paid like 10 minutes after auction ended via PayPal! So I was able to gas up the van for janet last night at midnight and filled up the car this morning on the way in to work. God allowed everything to come through as it was needed!

people of influence

I have been in a reflective mode lately. I was sitting here at work and the radio in the cube down the hall is on one of those 80s 90s and beyond stations, maybe it’s The Big Frog 109.9 (sick freak joke), anyway they started playing some old Whitesnake song and it reminded me of grade school. I started thinking about the teachers that were the most influential in my life and the sad realization that they are both dead already. My 8th grade teacher and grade school principal passed away this last year and my high school history teacher and yearbook adviser passed away about 7 years ago (Holy Cow, has it been that long already. I remember the day I found out like it was yesterday)
Anyway it just got me thinking about people in my life that have been very influential and have been great encouragers over the years. I have made a much better effort to acknowledge them and thank them but can you ever do it enough.
just a thought.

Bucheli will be forever grateful for an e-mail sent in July by two missionaries in Ecuador. [Jon & Karen Lambert] That message asked about 85 people to keep Heidi in their prayers and prompted a couple who work at the Clinic’s Naples, Fla., hospital to ask a colleague at the Cleveland campus to help Heidi.
Over the course of two months, everything fell into place. Another doctor donated his frequent flier miles for the Buchelis’ journey. The Clinic agreed to treat Heidi for free and set her up with an earlier than expected appointment because her father didn’t think she could wait very long. And a U.S. Embassy official in Ecuador prepared the Buchelis’ visas in just a few hours.
The fact that it all came together was, in Bucheli’s view, a gift from God. He never would have been able to bring Heidi to the United States on his own, especially considering his financial situation.

And I don’t want the world to see me
Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
