They are not out to get you.

Did a little googling tonight at the in-laws and my mother in law got a little freaked out because some of the family has their name on web pages. So just to prove that it is only the work of a web page spider I will show her the search in a few weeks. And then Letha Faye Umbstead will know that finding your name in a Google hit is really no big deal.

God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness.

He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back

the End because he doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving

everyone space and time to change.

What the big 3 didn’t want you to hear yesterday.

Author: utech  //  Category: Consistently Chili

Since the big 3 networks ABC, CSI I mean CBS, and NBC decided that you didn’t need to see President Bush’s speech last night. Here are some excerpts…

“I have come here tonight to report to all Americans, and to the Iraqi people, on the strategy our Nation is pursuing in Iraq, and the specific steps we are taking to achieve our goals…”

“America’s task in Iraq is not only to defeat an enemy, it is to give strength to a friend – a free, representative government that serves its people and fights on their

behalf. And the sooner this goal is achieved, the sooner our job will be done.”

“There are five steps in our plan to help Iraq achieve democracy and freedom. We will hand over authority to a sovereign Iraqi government … help establish security … continue rebuilding Iraq’s infrastructure … encourage more international support … and move toward a national election that will bring forward new leaders empowered by the Iraqi people.”

“History is moving, and it will tend toward hope, or tend toward tragedy. Our terrorist enemies have a vision that guides and explains all their varied acts of murder…”

“Our actions, too, are guided by a vision. We believe that freedom can advance and change lives in the Greater Middle East, as it has advanced and changed lives in Asia, and Latin America, and Eastern Europe, and Africa…”

“These two visions have now met in Iraq, and are contending for the future of that country…”

“We will persevere, and defeat this enemy, and hold this hard-won ground for the realm of liberty.”

The supplements came in today! Now I can actually eat oatmeal again. One little thing to keep in mind, if you are ordering protein bars that are covered with ‘chocolate’ or something else that can melt. You may not want to have them delivered. They will be a little soft…. they are in the fridge!

More about them later…

Got 6 GOOD meals in today. Typically that isn’t an issue but it has been lately. See oatmeal comment above.

I also got in my first TPfitness workout. Took 58 minutes to get through chest/shoulders/triceps and I have learned a few things. (One of them being that if you can’t get the barbell off the stand there is no way you can do 10 reps.) I feel great tonight but I will be HURTING in the morning. Hopefully it won’t be raining tomorrow cause I don’t want to get wet when I go out to run.

Work is good. I spent 6 hours of time last week doing a traffic analysis only to find out today that I was given the wrong objectives and it is a total waste and I will have to completely redo the whole thing. I really hate it when non technical people are in technical jobs and they don’t have a clue. Guess I should know better but I wanted to get it done. *sigh* Well at least a couple people were impressed with the report. Need to keep reminding myself of that.

Need to get the garbage out and get to bed. Blog ya tomorrow.

Where is your head?

“You have your heads in your Bible constantly because

you think you’ll find eternal life there. But you miss

the forest for the trees. These Scriptures are all about

me! And here I am, standing right before you, and you

aren’t willing to receive from me the life you say you

want.”

John 5:39-40

I got this verse a few days ago in the verse of the day email list that I am on. I really like the verse and have a few thoughts on it. Hopefully I can make some time to get them up here later.

Boston.com News – 48 Catholic congressmen warn bishops on bigotry

Forty-eight Roman Catholic members of Congress have warned in a letter to Cardinal Theodore McCarrick of Washington, D.C., that US bishops will revive anti-Catholic bigotry and severely harm the church if they deny Communion to politicians who support abortion rights.

The letter’s signers, all Democrats, include at least three House members with strong antiabortion voting records.

Isn’t this blackmail? What about the separation of church and state that the democrats scream about? It appears as though that what is happening here is exactly what Jefferson was trying to guard against.

Just in case you didn’t know… The statement about a wall of separation between church and state was made in a letter on January 1, 1802, by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association of Connecticut. The congregation heard a widespread rumor that the Congregationalists, another denomination, were to become the national religion. This was very alarming to people who knew about religious persecution in England by the state established church. Jefferson made it clear in his letter to the Danbury Congregation that the separation was to be that government would not establish a national religion or dictate to men how to worship God. Jefferson’s letter from which the phrase “separation of church and state” was taken affirmed first amendment rights.

This was understood as one-directional; its purpose was to protect the church from the state. The world was not to corrupt the church, yet the church was free to teach the people Biblical values.
