As Weird AL would say — “Gotta Boogie!”

This just re-enforces my Germ Theory…

Utech Germ Theory

If you are a germ freak, you know always washing your hands, sanitizing your hands, washing everything, use paper towel to open doors, you get the point right? When a itty-bitty germ gets to you it’ll knock you for a loop and BAM you are sick. So the best way is to not be a hand washing-sanitizing nut. Wash your hands before you eat most of the time. Wash your hands after #2 but not always after #1. It is gross, a little, but it is better than eating boogers. “Eat a little dirt” like Grandma always said. That way you keep the immune system strong.

TechDirt: Apple Ads Smacked Down By Dell

Apple’s benchmarks put to the test

So it isn’t the fastest processor when you do a similar comparative test. Dell even claims that they are faster, but then again they use a test that favors the IBM platform. So can we just say, “too close to call” I guess the Supreme Court will have to get involved and name the ‘real’ winner.

Apple told to halt ‘world’s fastest’ claims for G5

So Apple can’t run ads that they weren’t running any more. I hope their hands really hurt ;)

** I am not trying to start a PC vs. Mac fight here. I understand that both systems have their own strengths and weaknesses. I happen to have both in my family. So I guess you could say we are an ‘inter-platform’ family. At least we ain’t inbreedin’.**

Give Me A Break

Author: utech  //  Category: Consistently Chili

Took the day as a vacation day. I need a break! Rode with Jae in the new car. She does really good, pretty sure she is better than I am, I need to relearn how to drive a stick. We took the girls to school this morning, stopped back at home to change clothes (get out of the work wear) and Jae ran Evan out to her parents, waiting on her to get back now.

Setup my vacation reply for the work email. Actually I had to find where it was since I have never used it before. Got changed. Got the laundry sorted and going (IT NEVER ENDS!) and need to get in the kitchen and get the dishes switched around. Hopefully we can get some control in this house, hey if it’s clean maybe we can actually get some stuff moved around this weekend.

Really hope Janet and I can have a date this weekend. I can’t even remember when we had on. It has been WAY too freaking long! I really want to see The Passion movie, but it really isn’t a good date movie from what I have heard :) . Who knows.

Need to get to a FedEx location today, the case from NewEgg was damaged when I got it. At first they said they could send a replacement part but called yesterday to say it isn’t available so I need to do an exchange. So all the components came out last night and I gotta get this 22 pound box shipped back to California. That’s gonna cost me $15 and take a week to get there, then I get to wait probably another week for the new case to show up. So the new PC is on hold for 2 weeks. GRRRRRR!!!

Oh well, off to get the dishes taken care of and listen to Glenn Beck…. more later.

I had a doctor appointment today. Last time I was in to see our family doc was April 6, 2002, for some reason I don’t remember what I was in for. But the most interesting part was that on my last visit I weighed 251. Today I stepped on the scale and it read 209. And let me point out that it was the middle of the afternoon and not long after lunch. Yeah, I know excuses, excuses. Any way, the doctor noticed. “I’ve been working out.” The doctor complimented what I have been doing and it felt good. So even though I am not on stage let me just take a moment to thank all the people that have been a help and inspiration to me. First, my wife, Janet, words can not express nor can time ever contain the appreciation and love I have for you and how you have and continue to support me. Thanks to my inspiration, Tom, you continue to make it real! Thanks to BFL for the method. And thanks to the others that continue to be an inspiration to me through their own progress, specifically Gary, Andrea (get a blog girl! or at least an email account!!!), and Mark, and the others that I am forgetting. And Thanks to The Lord for putting all of these people in my life, you have truly blessed me.

You’re Confessions!

by St. Augustine

You’re a sinner, you’re a saint, you do not feel ashamed. Well, you might feel a little ashamed of your past, but it did such a good job of teaching you what not to do. Now you’ve become a devout Christian and have spent more time ruminating on the world to come rather than worldly pleasures. Your realizations and ability to change will bring reverence upon you despite your hedonistic transgressions. Florida will honor you most in the end.

Grow Youthful Biological Age Quiz Results.

Your chronological age is 28.

Your biological-electric age is 37.

You are aging significantly faster than most people in modern society.

Your rate of aging is even faster than most doctors, insurance companies and modern health institutions expect – and they don’t expect much, compared to what the human body is capable of under optimal conditions.

Many people are not aware that the conveniences of modern civilisation come with a high price – their lives. Cheap convenient refined foods, conventional medical and dental services and a lifestyle that provides little physical exercise or exertion lead to a rapid rate of aging and a host of degenerative diseases. Obesity, depression, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, wild mood and energy swings, skin inflammations, cancers and so on are something society regards as normal, something we should expect as we get older.

The good news is that this is not true. You can take some simple steps to turn your life around, slow your rate of aging, dramatically improve your health and grow youthful.

RSS Change

If anyone out there is using RSSify feed to read this blog please change to my new RSS feed. You can either use the ATOM feed or the RSS feed (which is the ATOM feed converted to RSS via 2RSS.com)

I have been viewing both feeds via BlogLines and have found that ATOM via Blogger is just quicker and shows the entries better than RSSify ever did. I will be removing the RSSify feed later this week.

Hi. My name is Mike and I am a geek.

My NewEgg.com order is on it’s way to my house. You can track it with me. Yes, I am a geek and I am not ashamed to admit it.

I had a small mishap this weekend that has stressed the importance of making sure you are discharged before you touch electronics/computer parts. I went to check the Called ID box yesterday and shocked it as I touched the button. It blew out the memory and now the new call indicator light is on solid. Tried reseting the box, by removing the batteries (after I disconnected the phone lines, which causes adverse effects if someone happens to be on the phone at the time, SORRY HONEY!!!) and the unit reset, but the light is still on solid. But other than that it appears to work. Better make sure I am discharged before I start putting the PC together on Wednesday night.

If you are looking for PC parts of any kind, check out the link above. I am tracking my order as we speak.

A little background – About 6 years ago I build my PC from the ground up. Over the years I have gone from a Celeron to PIII to Athlon. Increasing hard drives, swapping motherboards, adding memory, and other components. But the last two years my PC hasn’t seen any upgrades. Lately the hard drive has been a little shaky, there have been a few time where we were with out a machine for a few days at a time. Well now the time has come. The new parts are on their way. Feel free to check em out.
