A flatbed truck loaded with trees slammed into slow-moving traffic on an Interstate 275 bridge just before 7 p.m. tonight in Northern Kentucky, injuring 14 people, two of them critically.
Much of the traffic was headed to a Def Leppard concert

Well I’m glad I didn’t go to the concert.

found an anagram that is pretty weird

From StretchyChurch
What do Presbyterians and Britney Spears have in common?
You’ll never guess! They both contain exactly the same letters!

Do you know the anagram of this post title?

Seen on slashdot

“After reading an article in the Miami Herald that said “[President] Bush’s twin daughters gave him a CD they had made for him to listen to while exercising,” a Florida lawyer calculated statutory damages of $1.8 million and has sent a letter to the RIAA asking that they ‘display the same vigor in prosecuting this matter and protecting the rights of your rights-holders that it has displayed in enforcing those rights against other alleged violators.’ From the letter: ‘This is a serious violation of copyright. As you know, whichever of your member organizations that are right[s]-holders for the copied musical works may be entitled to statutory damages of $150,000.00 per musical work copied.’” Update: The lawyer in question has retracted his analysis and now says no laws were broken, probably.

So this maverick attorney figures he will make a name for himself and tries to sic the “Big Dog” RIAA on the Presient’s family… I kinda suspect that moments before his retraction the KGB IRS gave him a call to inquire about a possible audit. I guess the lesson here is - if you are gonna threaten someone make sure you have the bigger stick.

Tell me something, it’s still “We the people”, right?

From the New York Times, Senate Leaders Agree to Revive Immigration Bill

Comments by Republican senators on Thursday suggested that they were feeling the heat from conservative critics of the bill, who object to provisions offering legal status. The Republican whip, Trent Lott of Mississippi, who supports the bill, said: “Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem.”

I got news for you Mr. Lott, talk radio is driven by its listeners. Americans are running America and we are calling you in. It is time to return to representing the people of this country and not the special interest groups. American’s support immigration but you have to follow the rules. Why should illegal aliens be allowed to jump in line ahead of legal immigrants who have been working within the system.

I know people personally that have come to America legally and are working within the system for years! It would be easier and quicker for them to leave, sneak in from Mexico and then get citizenship. Talk Radio Hosts are not standing in your way, the American people and especially legal immigrants are! We love this country and don’t want to see it be given away.

You want to give people a fast track to citizenship, let them put on the uniform for 3 years and I have no problem with giving them full citizenship.
